Hacksaw Gaming is the latest name in the iGaming industry to be able to continue operations in the recently re-regulated Swedish market.

In our latest GI Friday magazine, we discussed which of the latest operators had also been awarded licences in Sweden and why the new licences were necessary, all in our Scandinavian round-up.

Applications for the new licence opened on 1 March 2023, with over 60 suppliers submitting the paperwork almost immediately.

Marcus Cordes, CEO of Hacksaw Gaming, said: “Acting fast has given us a head-start on the competition.

“We are delighted to be among the first providers to obtain a full Swedish B2B gaming license, allowing us to build from a position of strength in the fast-growing market.

“We’re now looking to ramp up our efforts in Sweden by securing partnerships with even more top-tier operators to expose our games to a wider audience.”

This announcement comes after Hacksaw Gaming announced a partnership with Glitnor Group last month.

Hacksaw Gaming launched a number of its games onto Swedish online platforms HappyCasino and LuckyCasino.

The new licensing framework is designed to protect the Swedish gambling market's integrity and safeguard players' welfare.

In 2022,Casino games the SGA announced: “The purpose of the licence requirement for gaming software is to discourage illegal gambling.

“Unlicensed game operators must not be able to use suppliers who manufacture, provide, install and/or change game software for game operators who have a licence in Sweden.”

Hacksaw Gaming is already licenced in several jurisdictions, including the United Kingdom and Isle of Man, Malta and Ontario.
